First Inaugural Santa Fe Concorso

I traveled to Santa Fe, NM a few weeks back for a car show called, Santa Fe Concorso. I took 3 vehicles to the show, a 1954 Le Sabre, a corvette, and a 2011 Cadillac CTS-V. A beautiful area and a supreme car exhibit.

I watched some of the other cars come in and unloaded.

Then I noticed a tent setting up for an art gallery. I decided to walk over and take a look. And ended up chatting with the owner of Manitou Gallery. A very nice guy, he told me how hundreds of artist submitted their artwork to his gallery. And assured me, only the best of the best got in. I can tell you first hand, I have never seen such beautiful paintings in my life. And quite a pricey tag too. One painting was selling for $22,000. I wished him lots of sales and went on my way. The gallery also specializes in silver pewter saddles. The most AMAZING saddles I’ve ever seen.

Now, going back to the ride to Santa Fe, one of the first things I noticed, was a rock formation, it absolutely appeared to be a camel resting. I inquired at the resort and found out it’s called, Camel Rock. Completely fitting, don’t you agree.

I stayed at the Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino, it was stunning place, to say the least, surrounded by mountains. And done with a Southwestern-style flair.

The inside of Buffalo Thunder Resort was filled with incredible Indian artwork and pottery.

I went out back to find a pool, kiddie area, and a nice spot to lounge around for a while.

But the reason I was in Santa Fe was for the Santa Fe Concorso. So let's take a look at some of those cars at the show. Shall we.

One of the things that made this car show special, was the location. Held at the La Mesita Ranch, they had the most beautiful horses, and even allowed you to pet them in the open stables.

Taking a detour down the street, I came across a church. Sacred Heart Catholic Church. You don't see churches like this everyday. From what I read it's a fairly new church, built in the traditonal style of the southwest. Truly a beautiful place of worship. There was also a cemetery across the street from it. What made it interesting was the grave stone that looks just like the church.

There was also a road, that had a creek or overflow of water running over it, and under it. It was interesting, and I actually witnessed a couple cars go across.

Just a few shots, taken of the landscape around Santa Fe.
